Mike's wife Renee and Scott Lorenz were the co-pilots of the two Cameron balloons. Steve Davis and Doug Davis were the pilots. Scott also video taped the skywalk for LMNO productions.

After four test flights at lower altitudes, the record setting flight took place over Marshall, Michigan in April of 1998. The balloons were tied together with two safety ropes and the beam. Chased by a team of videographers in a helicopter and on the ground, the balloons traveled more than 45 MPH and covered 65 miles of beautiful Michigan Countryside.
